Description:
I was bored over the summer, so I made a mesh grill for my car. I had a spare one laying around, so I cleaned it up, repainted it, and threw some mesh in there. What do you think? More pictures in the comments. |

#3, ;:-| Your car has a grill? I don't nessesarily think that would be rice. It could look ok if done right. I mostly did this because, as the thread title says, I was bored, I had an extra grill, and I wanted to do something to my car but I had no money. I think it turned out pretty good. I kept the slash on there to cut back on the riceyness.

...to think... I almost joined the ranks of the other Volvo owners here...
I've said this story before, but, here it is again...
Back in January 2003, when I was looking for a car down here (I eventually ended up with that horrible Capri) I came across a 1986 Volvo wagon... it looked really nice, was only a few hundred more than the Capri, had a working radio, and the owners looked like they were still driving it around while they were trying to sell it... (The Capri, however, was sitting in someone's backyard...which I SHOULD have noticed as a bad sign) ...the only reason I didn't go for the Volvo wagon was because it was manual... looking back, I WISH I had gotten it, and learned to drive manual (hell, I know the basics of operating a manual transmission/clutch, due to my motorcycle experience...it wouldn't have been THAT hard to learn for a car.)
Y'all don't know how much, now, I regret buying that Capri. Well, maybe you do.

maybe if it was a mesh with smaller openings, as it is now it just looks like arts and crafts chicken wire style.

Looks pretty good to me. I'm not a big fan of the stock Volvo grilles...they're a little clunky looking. Of course, I still prefer them to those European "flat fronts" that everyone puts on them.

#6, didnt the volvo have like 180k while the capri had 100

#15, I for one am all for the tradition of voting member cars into the top 10. The site is "Rice or Not", not "Exotic or Not", and this car is no less rice than the likes of a Bugatti Veyron or Porsche Carerra. In fact, one might say that we know this car to be less ricey, since we know the individual who owns it is not a riceboy. Some of those exotic owners might have a "tricked" Neon or Acura in the garage next to their Viper, and remember that attitude is a big part of rice.
