#1, Yeah, it's the GTO drifter... Dodge has a Viper Competition Coupe drifter, and Chrysler will soon have a Crossfire convertible drifter... that sport is starting to get a lot of factory backing.

#2, Would you say drifting is considered ricey?

#3, Yes. It's all about 'style' bullshit...so it's like automotive figure skating... and the cars used for drifting are usually visually modified in horribly ugly ways, much like this one.

#6, I've seen videos of tons of non riced cars drifting. I think drifting is somewhat cool, when they know what they are doing. I agree, most of the drift cars are hideous.

#7, Drifting, itself, is fun, and sometimes fun to watch. But it's not something that should be a standalone professional sport... and the aforementioned fact that most of the drifting cars are hideous makes it worse.

#6, I was about to say something along those lines...
Seriously, I you re a car manufacturer and you ve got a fast powerful car and you are interested in motorsports, race it! Dragracing, Rallying, touring car... doesnt matter, but dont try to follow every single stupid trend. Leave the drifting to japanese nerds, they have more skill and look less ridiculous while doing it.

#8, Definitly. I agree 100%. I love drifting because it is damn fun! But this drifting sport crap is getting out of hand. Its nice to know that the Japanese drifters aren't totally dominating it anymore though.

btw, I got to drift one of these at the GM test drive session ths last summer. That was so damn fun. It was amazingly controlable and easy to pitch lose. The coordinators didn't seem to appreciate it though.

#8, The problem is that in drifting, sliding is the technique not a technique.
