The Project RX-8 launches in the same manner as the stock model, with the rear tires chirping as they propel you forward in a slingshot manner; however, the intense forward surge comes on much earlier in the rpm spectrum, at about the 4000-rpm mark, compared with about 5500 in the normal RX-8. And the g's last a long time, continuous all the way to the 9000-rpm redline. Up- and downshifts are quick and easy, thanks to the stock gearbox's wonderfully short throws and well-defined gates.
We estimate the project car reaches 60 mph in about 5.5 seconds, about a half-second quicker than stock. The quarter-mile mark comes and goes in roughly 14.0 at an exit speed of 100 mph. The horsepower of the revitalized rotary is estimated at 275 bhp, with 200 lb.-ft. of torque peaking at about 5500.

pretty nice, imho...but if it had an intercooler and did away with the scoop and the teeny weeny foglights, it would be perfect

I love that whitewater pearl color - of course it had to come out the year after I bought mine :(
I don't like the blackout headlights but other than that its pretty nice

I kinda like that psuedo 550 hood, just stick that stock spoiler back and we're in buisness

I like this. From this angle, the spoiler looks good. Very sporty looking. Those foglights look kind of silly, though.

you know what's funny...everybody on ron just loves the new rx, but when an S2000 comes up, a bunch of people go "nos, it has no tork, how can you drive it, it is overhyped!!"...the rx is identical to the honda in hp, torque, and the rpm range
