UP FOR AUCTION IS THIS NICE 1990 HONDA CIVIC SI HATCHBACK SELLING AT NO RESERVE!!! FIRST OFF, THE CAR IS A REAL ORIGINAL SI, WITCH MEANS ITS ONE OF THOSE RARE REAL SI 'S THAT ARE STILL LEFT AROUND.
Rare indeed. Everyone knows those Civic Si's are rapidly becoming collector's items. In fact, the DuPont Registry recently claimed that the Civic Si is the "Hemi Cuda convertible of a new era". I don't remember what issue, but it was like, a while back. But they wrote that, I swear.
THE MOTOR IS A MULTI PORT FI. JDM ZC MOTOR IMPORTED DIRECTLY FROM JAPAN. THE ZC LETTERS ARE ENGRAVED ON THE ENGINE BLOCK, THEY ARE CLEARLY VISIBLE, THATS HOW YOU KNOW ITS AN AUTHENTIC JDM JAPANESE MOTOR.
Note that the seller specifies that it's a JDM Japanese motor. We don't want to confuse that with a JDM European motor. And it's Japan, because it says "ZC" on it, and Z.C. stands for "Japan". And it's like, engraved. With an engraving tool. That does engraving. |

SI's from that era are getting rare and hard to find. They are collector items, but for a different crowd then the Hemi Cuda crowd. |

THIS MOTOR HAS MUCH MORE HORSEPOWER THAN THE ORIGINAL, EVEN THE SI THAT IT ALLREADY WAS.
Quite a feat. It's hard to improve on 110 blistering horsepower. What a beast! I had a dream about a car just like thisa couple of nights ago, and somehow woke up with an intense desire for french toast.
THEN TO ADD TO THE FUN, A TURBOCHARGER WAS ADDED. IT IS AN IHI TURBO, SAME BRAND AS THE SUBARU WRX.
Obviously that means it's as fast as a WRX. It's got a turbocharger, from like, the same manufacturer or something.
AFTER THIS UPGRADE THE CAR IS VERY FAST, ITS LIKE DRIVING AROUND A V8 WITH THE ECONOMY OF A 4 CYLINDER.
You mean it actually is fast AND economical? How is that possible?
THE CAR IS ONLY BOOSTING 4 PSI.
So that explains it. And I guess when he compared it to a V8, he actually meant his uncle's 1983 Delta 88 Royale. But that's okay. Those had V8s, so therefore running that fast is an accomplishment. |

IT HAS CUSTOM HEAT SHIELDS ON THE TURBO AND MANIFOLD SO ITS LIKE STEALTH STOCK TYPE OF SETUP, YOU CAN BARELY SEE THE TURBO, ITS POINTED OUT IN THE PICS. UNLESS YOU KNOW ABOUT TURBO'S MANY WILL JUST THINK ITS A COLD AIR INTAKE OR SOMETHING.
You know, he's got a point there. Many a time I've looked under the hood of a sweet ride and said "Hey main, what kind of CAI....WHOA MAMA! That's a turbocharger you've got there!". I usually then feel a bit silly, even though we all know how much intakes look like turbochargers. It's a stealthy move by the enthusiast who wants a true Q-ship!
THE CAR HAS A SHORT THROW SHIFTER WITH A REALLY NICE SILVER FACED SHIFTER KNOB. THE INTERIOR HAS SOME NICE MISCELLANEOUS CARBON FIBER TRIMMINGS, AIRVENTS, RADIO TRIM, ETC
Carbon fiber airvents greatly increase your cooling. Putting carbon fiber airvents in your dash is like inviting all your friends to a pool party then murdering them one by one. It just makes everything cooler! |

Finally the seller closes with this statement:
HONDA CIVIC'S ARE VERY VERY EXPENSIVE
You bet they are. The Du Pont Registry said so! This particular car as of this typing is going for the stratospheric price of $1,998, no reserve. Surely, this hot little number will climb to even higher levels, perhaps even becoming the first fifteen year old Honda to ever break $3500. Stay tuned. |

#5, Well it's hardly a hobby, but I've always had so much fun picking apart EBAY ads, the rare times that I actually do it. |

#3, apparently this guy has never driven a 4.4 Chevy V8... it's like driving around with a 4-cylinder, but the economy of a V8 - its Win Win - lol |

#8, 4.4...would that be the 262 or the 267? Either way, it wouldn't be good. |

#9, 267. Also, 110 hp in these cars is not bad at all. You seem to forget, that they dont weigh much at all. 150 hp in a car like this would make for one fun little car. |

#10, Granted, it's a decent figure, it's just not worth the hype that this guy is throwing out. Also, I'm exaggerating quite a bit: I actually don't think the car is that bad, I just figured it was worth jumping on because the owner sounds like a tool. And TYPES IN ALL CAPS. |

#11, well, he wants to sell his car, ofcourse he wants it to sound good. Typing in all caps is a no-no though. |

#14, My reason for picking this car was the owner's heavy use of hyperbole and smooth talk to try and sell what appears to me to be a 1990 Honda with Wal-Mart wheelcovers and a missing piece of side trim. Normally I would have gone after ricier cars, but all the riciest cars on EBAY seem to have minimalist ads that do no more than list the modifications. |

unmolested Si's of that gen aren't too hard to find here for some reason. I think its because our ricers are more diverse (hyundai's, cavaliers and weird cars are the norm, not hondas) |

#17, Because your Si's are our Lx's... the equivalent of our Si is your SiR, I think. |

I'm suprised you read it with all those caps. It was starting to hurt my eyes. I was begging for things like periods.
1983 olds was a good example.
You can become fast as a v6 with 4 cyl economy with a turbo but becoming as fast as a v8 takes a lot more mods.
Faded paint on the roof, missing radio, $14.99 hubcaps, unsafe engine plumbing, and an interior that looks like it smells.
I see why noone is bidding for it. Couldn't sell it locally. Even the wholesale dealers didn't want it. |
