Damn that "column monuted" shifter looks like an eleventh hour jury-rigged design.

That car looks bad to start with, and it looks even worse when you see it in your rearview mirror with lights flashing on top.

Why are police using Vics that take 11 seconds to get to 60, when these take around 7?

#10, Because Vics have been around for a long time...and they're cheap, and tough, and pretty safe. They have huge trunks, simple construction, optional Kevlar door inserts...

#11, I know, I know. I like Vics but I didn't realize they were so fucking slow.

#10, I wish I knew, cost maybe? There's safety too, Vics are very tough cars. I can't predict a gradual phase out of the Vicky though, no matter how much better the Charger might be at high speed pursuit (and just looking like a badass cop car to boot)

#13, I'd feel safer in a pursuit in a Vic than a Charger. Dunno why, Chargers just don't look very strong.

#14, and they're not respected yet, and I doubt they will be. I like the Vics and they have been America's staple cop car for about 30 years now, so I don't think it's likely to rid them.

#10, SA AI addressed this:

-Police are trained on them
-Standard issue
-huge reserves of parts
-mechanics in the force know them back to front
-police equipement is generally made for them
-huge parts reserve can serve the patrol fleet
-2008 these are fleet only
-Chargers have shitty blind spots
-Older cars are SOOOOOOOOOOO similar to new fixing is easy, so is paiting

#17, Yeah ... if you're going 120mph on a busy highway, I would think you want to be able to see the cars around you.

#14, Well, the Charger got pretty much identical safety ratings as the Crown Vic, the only difference being a slight deviation in the rollover rating, the Charger came up a tad short. And, by watching as many police videos as I have, I know that a rollover is one of the key concerns involved with any high speed chase but I'm just splitting heirs. But overall the Charger in SXT trim is just a flat out better pursuit vehicle than the Crown Vic, it's 300 lbs lighter, it's got higher compression and large bore and stroke and more valves per cylinder and it makes more power and revs higher from a smaller HO V6 as opposed to a mod V8. But even though it's slightly advantageous in some ways, the Vicky's just got experience on it's side.

#18, Not even that fast. On a car like this the Blind Spot is not that obvious. I was behind the one marked (white) charger here. The C pillar is fuuuuuuuuuuuuucking think. The A pillar is also worse than the impala. The 2007 altima c pillar is a semi-bad blind spot.......the charger can hide everything west of ohio.......in OTTAWA!
