#19, I've seen some sort of brake cooling setup for sale on corral, but I can't find it in the sea of listings like OEM FORD '00 COBRA "R" SMOKED HEADLIGHT, NEW '99-'04 MUSTANG EXPORT TAILLIGHTS... $279.99/PAIR!!! and fucking front left cobra calipers.

I have to say that I find the Mustang aftermarket pretty annoying. There are a lot of parts out there, yes, but probably 70% of them are really suitable only for drag race applications, 90% of them are junk, and your average...er, end user doesn't really have a clue. The rear suspension, in particular, is crap, but will your average Mustang owner actually do the right things to address it? No, he'll put tubular control arms on all four points and make it worse.

#28, Indeed, the untrained eye would see only a quaint V6 Mustang. How long has it been since you took her to the track? |

#29, Dragstrip? Over two and a half years, back when it was totally stock. They were only running 1/8th at the time, some idiot in a Gremlin modified kept oiling down the track, and they finally wound up running everyone out of the right lane. I only got one pass in, after waiting two hours, and the car ran like poo because it was heat-soaked.
I don't ever really intend to go to another strip. I'm significantly over the torque rating of my transmission, which worries me somewhat, but the reality is that I'd never get traction anyway because the suspension is reasonably close to a road race setup--combine that with 4.10s in the rear, and it'll never hook.
Open tracking? None yet. I'll probably do a driving school soon and start hitting autocrosses/HPDEs, since that's what I had in mind anyway. |

Nah, I've had issues and haven't been able to get the reliability to the point where I'm comfortable with it. I'm paranoid. It should be fine now, though, I just need to spend some time tuning. |

The main remaining issue is that we tuned the car with the computer commanding ~39 PSI from the fuel pump, which unfortunately meant that we were running out of injector at 5300 RPM. I can jack the pressure up to 50 PSI without worry; it's just that I need to be able to redline the car in third gear to confirm that I've got the A/F correct. Good luck finding a place to do that around here. :p |

#37, Well I did just get new upper and lower ball joints, tie rods, and tires. But the thing is there's no open tracks near me that I know of. |
