The transmission went kerplowwie right after exiting the Winn Dixie parking lot... had it towed to a garage, where they affirmed, yes, the bloody transmission is dead... It's still there and I'm gonna call a junkyard to see if they'll give me any cash for it and tow it away.

Currently looking for another car in the $1000-2000 range... got my eye on a '98 Metro at a local dealership from their online ad...

My requirements for a car...

-Has to be within 25 miles of 32937
-Has to be Japanese
-Has to be a simple econobox, nothing fancy.

...and that's about it... Jupiter, FL is 120 miles away, Orlando isn't near as far, but maybe just a tad too far for me to go, and I really don't want to risk getting a car THAT nice and THAT new for that kind of money.

So, from my internet search, I have turned up a '95 Eagle Summit wagon... basically identical to my car except it's a Minivan (same chassis though) for $1500 http://tinyurl.com/y5quag

The Summit wagon is GONE... sold... darn...

...but just got off the phone with a local used car dealer here... he's got two cars that piqued my interest... both over $2000... but maybe I can haggle a bit... (I actually stopped by the place when it was closed, so I was able to take a look at the cars up close before calling... called his home number)

-1991 Honda Civic 4-door... looked EXTREMELY clean... $2500.
-1990 Honda CRX ... looked kinda beatup $2300...

#18, HA! XD

But I kinda wanted a miniminivan... and it's not like my Mirage gave me a bad experience... it served me well for almost 3 years with no major problems, after only costing $1100 to begin with.

#17, ...and it's autotragic too... if I got the CRX I'd have to learn to drive stick... which would not be a bad thing, just a short-term inconvenience.
