GET THE CRX, manuals are fun as hell, it's lightweight, and awesome gas mileage. like someone else said, you could save it from the hands of some idiot. you could definately talk him down. after all, it IS a 17 year old car.

Uh... I should probably note... the CRX has clear-turn signals and has a Honda badge glued to the passenger's side of the dashboard... it was already in the hands of some idiot. The Civic 4-door looks absolutely pristine and unmolested.

#43, easy fixins :)

honestly, you probably stand a lot better chance talking them down on the price of the CRX, but they're both worth a shot

It's funny though, since my mom is helping me out financially with the car, her input counts a lot towards my next car... and she preferred the CRX...

...and also, I should listen to her... why?

The Capri was my choice.
The Mirage was hers.

And that's that.

#46, you could always get another Mirage 4 door.

Whatever you do, get actual reviews on the cars, and do cost to own research and such.

I'd vote for the CRX as well, they are damn fun little cars and with a stick you don't have to worry about the tranny dying on you, just the clutch

#51, I killed both the clutch and the tranny on my 87 Sentra. Rust could have been responsible as it was basically a pile of rust + wheels. I vote for the CRX too, though it's only a 2-seater.. :S

wow. i actually feel really bad for dirfy. somewhat.
dirf - why not get on different message boards for the respective car you're looking at and ask what known problems there are at XXX,000 miles before buying?

and buying a ricers car is like barebacking with a street walker.
stay away.

http://tinyurl.com/ykjujb - japanese $2K ish - and I know high mileage ones run because I see black guys all the time in 90 - 95 models bragging about their fly 'lex with reeyumz.

Good choice, a CRX will no doubt have better reliability than a Mustang clone powered by an amebic 20 year old Pinto engine or Mitsubishi. Not to mention being a lot more fun than either of those.

#54, hmm..seeing as to how theres 9 hrs left on that and 15 bids, i'm sure the price will double if not triple for that. :/

I may draw the ire of a lot of people here, but the Civics aren't the only thing I'm looking at... I'm also looking at a Chevy Metro... and I haven't ruled out a local Mazda MX-3... they're all manual though... only one car I've seen in my pricerange that fits into my preferences is automatic (the '91 Civic 4-door).

If I remember correctly, I got 20,000 miles out of the Mitsubishi.
