Looks like a cross between an Impala/Monte and an Uplander.

"Chevrolet previously released a sneak peek of one of the car's available two-tone interiors, which demonstrates a much more upscale look and feel with more premium materials and a new level of refinement in the extremely competitive mid-size car segment."

every facelift/new gen they promise this and fail to deliver.

#2, From what I've seen, their "premium" interior looks like they stripped the leather out of a Joseph Abboud edition Regal and stole the dash from a '94-04 Mustang.

Although I don't care for it's minivan influences on the front end I'll say again that I think this is much improved over the totally goofy looking last gen. The lines blend smoothly together and there's no weird blockiness or odd slants like in the previous Malibu.

#11, I like the 2004-2006, but the 1997-2003 was a shitstorm of blandness.

#13, que? 2.2L of fury doesn't help, although the 3.1 would be adequate.

The 97-03 Malibu was simply built for commuting and the occasional trip to the mechanics, I don't have any strong feelings for it or against it. The 04-07's are meh in my book looks wise, but I did like the SS trim although I do realize it was a last ditch attempt by Chevy to recapture some of the edge of the formerly bad ass nameplate.

#15, I like the '04s, but honestly, they are for people who want a decent dependable car to go to work and back, although the SS is alright. I wish it came with an appropriate stickshift, or more power.
