#9, razor = BAAAAD idea... believe me... i've tried... What you should use for decals is a PLASTIC razor blade, and a good solvent.

#10, I've done it, too. I've removed pinstripes from virtually every car I've owned, it's pretty easy if you go slowly, actually takes a lot longer than an hour to do it properly.

Melted taillights is much more of a worry then scratched paint :S
