Richard Hammond's Morgan roadster... and in the background is Jeremy Clarkson's Ford GT which he has since gotten rid of, for the second time.

Why does he keep selling it? I thought he was head over heels for them.

For the Ford GT as an idea and as something to look at, yes... as something to actually drive and live with, Jeremy's frustration with it is well-documented on the show... alledgedly, he claims he has never completed a round-trip with it... something or other has always broken on it or it has become immobilized by its shit anti-theft device every single time he's driven it.

It all seems to come down to that stupid antitheft system that Roush installed, too. From what I remember, it seems like even some of the quasi-mechanical problems were a result of the screwed-up wiring.

I read about Clarkson's GT problems and it really was quite comical, not only could he not fit inside the car at first the after market security device went off about every fifteen minutes prompting him to sell it for a full refund and then buy it again at a higher price 2 months later; he also fried part of the electrical starting system with a faulty trickle charger and he almost bottomed out when getting out of a parking garage too. He's declared the GT "...the most unreliable car ever made." And has since replaced it with a Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder, I hope something breaks on that thing too, so he can piss and moan more.

#3, Roush? I thought it was Saleen that was contracted to do the additional work on the GT.

I could've sworn he said Roush on the show.

Ah, thanks. I don't keep up on the show the way I used to.

I have a shitty super basic cable package so I pretty much don't watch it at all

I wouldn't be surprised if the only problem is that Jeremy's a dumbass.

#4, Gallardos appear to be notorious for engine fires, so I will laugh when his goes up in smoke.

#8, What channel is it supposed to be on? I've haven't noticed it in the digital cable menu for about a year now, back when it was on Discovery or TLC... I forget which.

#10, BBC America, I would figure, or whatever BBC channel they show in the US.

#10, It was on TLC for a while, I have one of the BBC stations but I really don't think I got the show, now that I ever really checked.

#6, In the UK anyway

E: Roush was involved with importing them, and installed an anti-theft device in all of them. IIRC of course

BBC America has never aired Top Gear, and it's a shame... the only mainstream way for Americans to watch the show is in hacked-up pieces reattached back together with gaffer tape that are 3 or more years old on Discovery Channel... torrents are the way to go to watch the show properly.

They had a marathon of Top Gear on TLC once or twice, but thats it, I think. :(

#4, It should be noted, I believe that "faulty trickle charger" had been supplied by Roush, as well.

...and BBC America finally DID start airing proper Top Gear episodes... couldn't escape the inevitable soundtrack alterations, though, due to rights issues... but by the end they were airing episodes, almost uncut, within a week of original British airings...
