#18, The problem isn't sliding. THe problem is the car doesn't go anywhere.
Seems almost like it'll get stuck at the sight of snow.

#20, The locking diff helps, and truth be told the times it did get stuck were in 4-6 inches of snow. But it's got no weight at all in the back, it's like driving around in a big box and it slides something terrible.

#21, yep. I know how that is. My Ram never had trouble in snow much except for when I was careless. >_< The Monte seems to do alright in snow, but I've only experienced it once. Now, with my up and coming vehicle I actually want snow cuz it'll be fun.

#17, I've heard that. I guess I've been lucky -- my 9000 is great in the snow. Sure there are some situations it can't handle, but they're true 4x4 situations.

#24, two wheel, crappy wallmart car tires. I got stuck a few times, but that was due to my carelessness (backing into snow banks)

#10, My Focus is the one car we have that doesn't kill my back on long road trips, it gets 30+ mpg, and it's decently reliable. The ZX5s are a bit too small in the back seat for me, and my dad can't sit comfortably in the front of one with a sunroof, but our sedan fits my whole family just fine and has decent trunk space. I think the aftermarket leather seats are also a bit softer than the standard cloth.
The things I don't like are the positioning of the center "console", the cheap engine note and the sound of the turn signal. Also, the spoiler fills up with rainwater and the back seat doesn't have headrests.

I've ridden in RRB's dad's Mazda and it was a nice car, decently quick and felt luxurious for what it was. Definitely a little more 'premium' than mine. The used 3 hatch I drove once felt punchy but I couldn't really see myself owning one.

#18, I've seen an Astro van lose traction in the rain and crash into the vehicle in front of me. It wasn't pretty, but at least nobody was hurt badly. It was an AWD model too, seemed odd that it would lose it so easily.

My mother's 2007 Focus SE had its redeeming qualities, I suppose, at least when it wasn't on fire or randomly downshifting into second gear at highway speed. It had a bit more "punch" and more intuitive features than her 2010 Elantra, which in turn seems to have better build quality and is more comfortable and spacious.
