#3, I say mine... it's owned by my dad and will be treated as a second car once his shiny new 207 GTi comes along but I get priority for driving it ^^ I love it! So much fun. And I will do. Thanks DiRF

At least this one doesn't have orthodontia like the 207...

Get rid of the wing, cut out those redundant electronic helper wires (to shut them up once and for all) and rally/track it.
And be ready to be ridiculed everytime you brake hard*.

* Does Pug still have those 'hard braking=auto hazards on' thingy? Hilarious when witnessed in competition driving.

#7, One more thing. I have to say it looks rather, er... chubby in the pictures. Of course, if it oversteers like mad everytime you lift your foot off the throttle mid-corner, it's all good, it's still a little French nutter.

#7, Never seen that happen myself so I don't think this does. And I will report back about the handling when I'm able to drive it. Test is on Wednesday and then insurance needs to get sorted. That won't be cheap. It does look a little chubby but I guess it's the 3/4 view that does it perhaps

Hey Sensey... not everyone rallies their daily-driver, so don't expect him to push his car to its limits :P

#10, True, but Britain has millions of amateur level events, not just autoXs, but rallies, hillclimbs, trackdays, etc. No reason to risk damage to the car while having fun, I'm sure there are a lot of 'lite' events in the midst of ones for people that wear rollcages as a part of their daily apparel.
Oh, and why does someone buy a 'sport' version of a car... when he does not intend to have some fun with it?

#12, I do admit, I can think of three instances where I pushed the old Mirage to its limits during "daily driving"...

1) Driving in the fast lane, a car pulled out into traffic INTO the fast lane right in front of me... I swerved around them extremely quickly, into the slow lane and back into the fast lane right in front of them... never experienced that much G-force and body-lean whilst driving a car before (moreso than when I fishtailed after swerving around a gopher in the Cavvy wagon)... but the Mirage came through for me. Probably scared the shit out of that dumbass in the late '80s Camry.

2) Going down an off-ramp when an Eclipse was tailgating me, I kept going faster... it was raining... the rear-end swung wide a bit, I could feel the rear tires skidding... I just kept my foot in the gas, a firm grip on the steering wheel, and made it down the ramp ok.

3) Speed run. I was on I-95 and decided to see what the Mirage's top speed really was. 90mph. With a tailwind.

#14, Perhaps I'm the only one, but I really don't even have to push a car to have fun with it. The most fun I have in the Rambler is hitting the two lane of Highway 19 here and booking along at 55 mph with the windows down, left hand on the wheel and right arm across the bench seat.

Most fun I have in the truck is the (oddly frequent) occasions when I'm attempting to merge and other drivers don't move over for me....I like to drop the hammer, pull ahead of them, and then move over before I run out of lane. They never seem to like that much....maybe it's the sudden, vintage stockcar-ish scream of the L05's straight pipes as I cruise past. >:)

#15, most fun I have is simply driving with my arm kinda out the window, left hadn on the steering wheel, music semi low with the bass in the back just ridin along.

#15, I never claimed those moments were fun... they were simply moments where I pushed my car to its limit (or my limit, so to speak :P ) I was more scared than anything, as the first two moments were unexpected and I had to react correctly to save my ass.

...ok, well, maybe the last one was a little fun, and obviously not unexpected :P But with the Mirage, it tended to develop front-end lift at highway speeds, and by 90 it didn't even feel like the steering wheel was connected to anything solid, so it was a little scary too.

#15, ...and the merging dealy... yeah, I've dealt with assholes that don't move into the other lane to let me merge in... the SR20DE, whilst pretty fucking gutless at low revs, at merging speeds, if I floor it, it gives me some good, smooth, solid power. I've gotten ahead of stubborn right-lane assholes like that a few times.

As a sidenote... I can't figure out which are worse... the stubborn "THIS IS MY LANE AND I AM NOT MOVING FROM IT" assholes that either try to prevent merging or hog the fast-lane, or the assholes that zig-zag between lanes, cutting in between cars with gaps no larger than their car itself, yet still only end up a few carlengths in front of you at the end of 10 miles.

#19, The second kind. One of those days, they'll clip someone at speed (which usually = mad fishtail and a violent crash). And you know what? They might just drive away afterwards.
