#1, I saw an 80s GMC with about a one foot lift and skinny ass tires yesterday. |

#1, How do you propose to move the differential?
The idea of serious offroading is either to power your way through the mud, or pick an appropriate line on the rocks to keep your diffs and belly pan from hitting. |

There are high clearance diffs, or someone could special fit the unimog ones with outer clearance gears that raise the axle up from centerpoint |

#5, Those are portal axles.
Great and all, but a pair will cost more than my Jeep cost me, for used ones. |
