Same thing, aesthetics. I'm a huge fan of old-school functionalism, but this isn't a race car and it isn't meant to handle - it's sort of like blue collar art and a lot less pretentious than other forms of artistic expression, funny, you'd think that that's something we could all respect (if not necessarily admire particular styles) as car nuts.
I'd argue rice isn't included in that description 'cause mass-produced bolt-on parts don't really represent and craftsmanship, personality or individual style.

#8, I'd say it's rice-ish because there's just too much show off factor in this to my liking (not my style?). If I had a big Citroen, you could bet your ass I'd cruise the town with the suspension as low off the ground as possible, but modding a car specifically so that it can scrape...? Not up my alley.
And those multi colored lights and that 'I-never-drive-anywhere clean' engine bay just add up to it.

#10, I can respect that it isn't your taste, I'm not feeling the lights and engine bay either, but to call it rice is a stretch to me anyway.
