the motorola dynatac - got it in 1993 once it became "affordable" and still have mine.

I remember my mom's first phone from about 1994, think her's only weighed about 1 ton, tho.

I don't have a cell phone, but if society ever crumbles to the point where I can't get by without one, I'd carry one of these old "bricks."
Cell phones still look tragically trendy to me....some dipshit yapping to his girlfriend into a Nokia to tell her he's in Wal-Mart looking at barbeque grills.....it seems like 9 out of every 10 people who have them don't need them. The "trendy" stigma hasn't been true for most people for about seven or eight years now, but I can't shake the feeling of disgust at the things.

I use my cell for emergencies or for calling the wife (for those oh so important 'is there anything else we need while I'm at the store' conversations).
I don't IM, email or surf the net on my cell. The more technology that comes out, the more of an anti-technology curmudgeon I become. Of course I don't even own an Ipod.

I'd get a Jitterbug or something else not "hip"
My uncle was looking for a new phone recently and was disgusted with all these phones with added bells and whistles. What ever happaend to a phone you, uh talk to people on?
