WOW...I'll give you the point. Yup...a combo of AMC and Ford called the "AMF Safety Car". Good job, man, I thought it would take longer for an answer, esp. since DiRF's still gone. |

That's actually a periscope... that lets you look behind without turning your head. MG had one on their own MGB GT-based safety car. |

#6 Tell me you're jokin'. Somehow I get the feeling if a person can't grasp the concept of rearview mirrors, it's not too "safe" to let that person drive in the first place. |

Nope. They were trying to eliminate blind spots, and to prevent pedestrians from accidently getting hit by mirrors. |

Exactly who figured pedestrians getting hit by mirrors was a concern in the first place? And who pays that guy? |

Man I want one of those! I'd paint it yellow and use that periscope all the time, then I could listen to that Beetles record called...something, but anyway. If somebody pissed me off...don't spoil the paint job on my Firebird, flaten their ass as you take them out at 45 with that bumper! |

they should have made the bumper 10 feet longer, the car would have like a 25-foot crumple zone in front...imagine how safe that would be |

That "periscope" is a perfect place for a pizza delivery decal. |

Right. I think most city cab drivers could use something called the "Safety car." |

Still one of the absolute stupidest looking vehicles I've seen here. |

Yes, but I imagine that it's really safe--if all cars on the road looked like this, nobody would want to drive, so the accident rates would go down. |
