its a mid engine, and the hood is like that to provide proper flow for the radiator, in the front, out those scoops

that not only provides good air flow, but I imagine it is much better for the aerodynamics than venting the radiator air through the bottom

The hood openings, which occupy almost the entire top front of the car, offer a path for the air to exit the front mounted radiator.

That was my guess as well but I looked it up just to make sure.
