Description:
Okay, lets say this Camaro rolls up to you at a light in the summer of 1969. You think
you can take it, you thought wrong. This is one of only 69 sutch Camaros built with
COPO order #9560, that little detail equipped this car with the all-aluminum ZL-1 427
BB, the steet verison of Chevy's NASCAR race engine, say hello to 430 HP, and if tuned
for dragging, 500+. Fewer than 30 remain today

Base price for this car in 69' was $7,000, today, you can't get one for less than $125,000

THere was a COPO Corvette that used the same engine, a few of those became legendary on the drag strip in the modified producton classes, with low 11's as stock times, and trap speeds of 130+, they could almost afford to stop at the end and wait for the competition.

I see you used the underrated 430 hp rating....nothing like adding to its sleeper image.

Well, if you can consider any Camaro with 430 hp a "sleeper".

Your best bet is to insure it as an antique car. You can do that (in PA at least) if the car is older than 25 years old.

#9, Yeah, you can get it registered as an Antique/Classic car, but that caps your driving, I think it sets a limit of miles you can put on it, or restrics you to driving it only to and from events, or not after dark, or somthing like that....

Incidentaly, the COPO ZL-1 Camaro has the distinciton of being the fastest "production" Camaro ever built, recording a 1/4 mile pass at 10.4/128mph

#12, No, no no! The Handcode was a stretched 4 door Corvette with a Cadillac 500 punched out to a 510, supercharged, and AWD. They were pretty fast when you shifted them into "H".

The first HII not counting the hummer had a version of the gnx's 3.8 exept they gave it two more cylinders which bumped the output to 4.4 liters and the engine was bored to 325 cubes

it wasn't inferior it bould out perform an 80's F1 car it was quite superior
