I don't know my Chevelle's too well, but I'd guess 70 or 71. |

I'm willing to bet it's a '69. '70 and '71 had a different nose, and I believe '68 was still runnin' the bad-ass Vette-style round tail-lights. |

It's definitely '68 or '69. '70-'72 had two "corners" to the rear window rather than the one there. The sad thing is... I deduced this from flipping through Old Car Trader just this morning. |

OK, so 68 had the cool tail lights (didn't those go back to 66 or so?) and VonChad, are you talking about the rear side window? Changed shape from 69 to 70, huh? It's good to talk to those that know. |

Yep, rear side window.
I'll see if I can find a decent pic of a '70-'72. They're the Chevelles I generally picture when I hear the name. |

Yeah, now that you mention it, the later quarter windows were a bit larger. If the ones here roll down like mine, I can see how they'd be a major pain in the ass to fix or replace. I don't remember if my friends 'Velle was a '69 with a '68 nose or vise versa, but I'm pretty sure it had these tail-lights and I really wanna say it was a '69. |

If i had one I'd have to get new quarters just to put the round tail-light bumper in. They were sweet. Besides, most of the old Chevelles you find now need new quarters anyway, so it wouldn't be like hackin' up a classic for nothin'. '70 with the pretty front end and the round tail-lights out back. Perfect combo. |

Aha! I was wrong. That '70 in the pic had the round tail-lights in the bumper (I just know by the shape of the bumper) which explains why I liked the look so much. Which means this car is a '68 and the round tail-lights STARTED in '69. Mystery solved. |

Ahh... I was thinking that the '70-'72 HAD the round ones in the bumper, like I said, they're the ones I think of first when I hear Chevelle. |

They did. And yeah, that is the first thing to come to mind when I hear the name. I think the confusion of my friends body/nose combo threw me off. |

Are you sure the round ones were in the '69? |

Hehe... glad we could help. I'm still foggy on the round tails, I'm thinking they started in '70 but I'm hardly an expert and TinIndian probably knows better than I do! |

#15 Had to be. I knew they were in either the '69 or '69, and now we've figured out it was '69 cuz the '70 had them too. I'll bet money on it. |

I'm no expert either, bro, but I do dig Velles. Pontiac's my drug of choice, though. |
