A little more tweaking. I think it needs door handles. And maybe a sunroof.

Do a faceted render, right now the car looks like it's melting.

Updated. New pearl yellow paint (doesn't look like it's melting any more). Higher quality render. Changed the refmap on the wheels. Sunroof didn't look right, so I removed it. Maybe I'll change the wheels later, but I kind of like these. They look chrysler-ish.

I have a hard time making cars in 3d studio Max. Last one I tried to make was a dodge avenger. Came out bad and I never actually finished it.

It's something you have to work a lot at.
One hint: It's a lot easier if you can find a dead-on profile. Put it in the side viewport's background and lay your verts directly on top of it.

I can't even afford 3D Studio. Everything I've ever done, I did with cheaper programs.

Come to think of it, I haven't done 3D in a couple years; the last major thing I did was modeling this:

(big file, but it makes nice wallpaper)

#49, I got it from school (a while ago) with a crack so its not just the educational version (full version). I think I still have it on a zip or cd somewhere.

There's a free version of Max called gmax (www.discreet.com).
There's also a free version of Maya called Maya PLE. A lot of my friends swear by Maya, but the free version is kinda... crap.

If I recall, the annoying thing about gMax is that it's just intended for making 3D models for games, so they left some "small" features out, like a renderer :-)
