It's ugly, and AC, I'm QUITE SURE that it's not the first v8 turbo diesel. maybe of that displacement, and in a car, but definitely not the first.

You guys don't appearently know how diesels work. They have good reason to have huge gobs of torque and no hp (worse ratio than my mustang by a long shot). Diesels have dick for acceleration, but are great with steady, huge amounts of power. It comes from their igniting by compression (no sparkplugs in that ugly bastard) and how it injects the fuel/air mixture, among other things. This car isn't fast, guys, nor would the engine in anything else be. :) Deisels belong in gutless cars going for economy (next-gen Civic, mayhaps?) and big-arse trucks.

Oh, and V8 turbo deisels have BEEN in trucks forever. Feel free to look at full-sized fords, for example.

wtf? nobody was discussing the power the engine makes, just the fact that it's by no means the first turbo diesel v8. Oh, no offense, but for a guy who's trying to sound like you know what he's talking about, you're dead wrong about how diesels work. They don't have spark plugs, but they have glow plugs which serve much the same purpose. Glow plugs are constantly hot (glowing) but diesel has to be compressed with a large amount of air before it will burn effectivly, thus preventing detonation. Also, the reason they make so much torque and so little hp can be essentially put down to one thing: RPMs. Diesel doesn't burn very fast, so the most you can get out of a diesel engine is maybe 3000 rpm, which isn't enough for the rpms to shape the torque curve. Oh, and it's spelled dIEsel, buddy.

oh, and if memory serves, they quit putting the 5.0 in mustangs after 1994. oh, and I'm dead sure there was never a GT-R mustang.

bastard bangle. This was bangle right? Well what they should do is kill bangle and throw his body in front of Mercedes HQ (he was sent by MB to destroy BMW from the inside). Then get zagato to make the body, take out the diesel, and be happy with it.
