Wow, that's an even stupider way to do a hood than "suiciding" the hinge (putting it at the front like on a 'Vette).

I think they're just trying to be 'unique'. Of course, they lose track of the fact that 'unique' is synonamous with 'foolish' at certain times. The only other possibility I can think of is leaving it easier to work on certain things, but it appears all the turbo piping is on the back side and I can't see any gain from it being like this. I think he's just trying to look cool at the sport compact shows. How many ricemobiles open like that?

LOL... All older Skoda hoods opened like this (but they were rear engined).
