Apparently these things make about 1600hp and over 3000lb-ft of torque, from a 12L inline-6.

Caterpillar C12, 12-litre, six-cylinder engine featuring 4-valve head, twin Schwitzer S300 turbochargers, EUI fuel system. Specially prepared for racing but retaining standard production components.
POWER OUTPUT: Exceeding 1400 bhp and torque in excess of 4200 Nm. Power curve starts at 1500rpm and remains flat up to 2200rpm.
BOOST PRESSURE: 4 bar.
TRANSMISSION: ZF HP600, 5-speed automatic with manual sequential facility.

#11, I wonder how similar diesel engines are to gas engines regarding heads and headgaskets. Running that kind of pressure can't be good for the top half of the engine, either.

Remember, though, that even ordinary diesels are almost always built for both turbocharging and high compression.

bus engines run 45 psi, and this is just a LITTLE bit more reinforced
