That is not a mini. This is a honda only race off a honda only site.

I will admit to owning a '79 Civic much like the yellow one in this pic. I put studded tires on it and used for ice racing. Fun!

That would be great fun. Ice racing in a FWD car.

it's tricky, but not as hard as it sounds.

It was. In reverse you can spin donuts for an indefinite period. Well, not really because you puke after too many of those. It was also really fun to take a car without studded tires out on to a frozen lake and take it up to 70 mph or so and pull the hand brake.

actually with studded tires FWD is much better than RWD on ice, because traction is so limited you want to be pulled in the direction you want to go...

Good way to master RWD drift would it not?

Wasn't much that could go wrong. It worked best right after a very light dusting of snow. A plume of snow would fly 30 feet in th air. Lots of fun! Very cheap entertainment.

not terribly well. if the ice is a bit wet you'll turn the wheel and nothing will happen.

Actually I'd argue that it's a pretty good way to work on controlling drift... ice, or snow at any rate, exaggerates whatever latent handling characteristics your car has. So if it's loose, it's gonna be REAL loose on ice. If it's got a bit of push, same deal. I think ice is a good chance to Get To Know Your Car.
