Why is it that Civics and Accords rev on me at every stoplight? Should I put a banner on my window that says "Low 13 second car. Come back with your Daddys Trans Am and we'll have a serious race"

Pretty car, (and low 13s is nice) but she's too stock-lookin'. A distinct advantage in racing for money or slips, though.

#5, "too stock lookin'" is the biggest excuse ricers like to use. Do you want him to put a "bodykit" on it?

Hey now. I'm just sayin' something TASTEFUL to liven it up a little.... not some damn kit to make it look like a plastic rollerskate. There are just very, very few cars I would leave stock. Actually, none. I have to make it mine somehow.

Stock to me depends on a few factors. Here's what I like to ask myself:

1: Do I have any good custom ideas?
2: Is it rare?
3: If it's a classic, then is it in good shape?

If the answers are "Yes", "No", and "No", then that sucker is getting some custom work.

If the answer to any of the above is the opposite of what I say, it's getting restored. If I run across a basket case '58 Del Ray but can't think of a good way to build it, it'll get restored.

For a while I went back and forth between getting a version 7 spoiler, leaving it stock, or removing the stock spoiler completely. Took the spoiler off for about an hour and decided it looked way too plain. Then I got ready to order the v7, and decided the $400 would be better spent on a turbo upgrade.

I think the WRX sits on a rather precarious perch as far as 'rice' goes... I mean it comes stock with a rather large non-functional wing, a fairly ugly functional hood scoop, and generous fender flares. I admit to a few stickers (only for parts in my car and clubwrx.net), but they're all neatly tucked away in the lower portion of the front grill. Some things I think makes a WRX "rice":

1. The WRC Rally Car graphics kit. All those huge yellow swooshes look like ASS.
2. Chrome wheels of any kind. "I'll take the 19" Dubs... extra bling-bling y0..."
3. Loud blow-off valves. While not visually apparent, they are purely a "HEY LOOK AT ME I'M COOL" kind of mod.

#13, #3, I've always liked a loud BOV, but that's just me. Gives most people a "WTF" look.

what class do you compete in rex?
since you're obviously allowed awd, i imagine it'd be more competitive.

Well, I have two choices... unplug my electronic boost controller and stand a chance in STX... or leave it and get my ass kicked in Street Mod (SM).

#13, I agree, blow-off valves are a waste of money. The front end looks fine, ambient...geesh, you'd put light covers on a school bus. They don't work on everything.
