I admit it isn't as solid a performer as the hummer but it can hold it's own |

Doesnt do good enough, plastic all over a offroading vehicle isnt good, independant suspension isnt good for a offroad vehicle and the diffs are so damned low on the thing...
I could go out and get a beater to do the same thing plus more than a Old hummer for a helluva lot less. |

They still make the Hummer H1. And don't forget Jeep and Land Rover, they're still good off-road. |

ok now we get to independent suspension is "teh suck" (not trying to say that's what you said but that's a frequent complaint) I agree for the most part solid axels work better but independent suspension can be made to work and work quite well.
I don't even know why I'm trying to defend he H2 it's not like I'm going to buy one |

Land rover is the only decent suv(always forget about them :-p) and the only jeep that can now do anything is the cj. |

#70, The Grand Cherokee is a capable off-roader. I've seen them operate. And the Liberty is supposedly pretty decent, too.

#69, The only vehilce that ive seen with a independent suspension setup is the Original hummer, but try to go and get a lift for that hummer!
Hah!
You cant do it!
but then there are some really serious rigs out there that are completely home made and they use independant suspension with like 3 feet of travel but thats no were near the type of suspension they put on a suburban now is it? :-p |

#71, The cherokee is just to big and cumbersome to get back and in the trails and the Liberty, yeh they did put forth some effort to it like waterproofing all the electrical system and moveing the air box and intake as high in the engine compartment as possible.
But who in the sam hell is going to pay 25+k for a suv with a nice shiny paint job and plush leather interior and take it off road? |
