#100, You said Land Rovers and Hummers are good off-roaders, but said the Jeep Liberty isn't a good off-roader because it's too expensive.

If you don't see the fallacy there, I'm not going to bother pointing it out.

#99, Thus a trail, you see a opening that looks like you can fit through, you go through it and after a while it becomes a trail, either that or they follow dried up creek beds and things like that.

#101, Did i say anything about the liberty at all, no i did not...
Im saying that it is dumb to take any new vehicle out and use it as a a offroader because offraoders are very well beaten up and if you cannot see the basic logic there I am not going to bother to point it out again.

#102, Is that the "4x4 enthusiast's" definition of a trail?

People around here aren't like those suburbanites who buy an old truck and then go drive through the woods and start running over trees because they think it makes them macho. People here do it because they have to. Some of the roads down here are muddy, full of steep inclines, and are about as wide as one car. There are some roads I can't drive on around here since I don't have a 4x4 (though the Volvo is awfully hard to stick). For places like this, an expensive SUV is perfectly fine.

#71, The cherokee is just to big and cumbersome to get back and in the trails and the Liberty, yeh they did put forth some effort to it like waterproofing all the electrical system and moveing the air box and intake as high in the engine compartment as possible.
But who in the sam hell is going to pay 25+k for a suv with a nice shiny paint job and plush leather interior and take it off road?

Looks to me like you were talking about the Liberty. Or Grand Cherokee, but really the same logic applies.

#105, Yes it is a 4x4 enthusiasts definition, but did i ever say anything about runnign over trees?
No i did not.
Most of the time its the trees doing the damage to the rigs not the other way around.
And i could do more offroading in my lil 2.5 litre 2wd truck.

#108, "Running over trees" is exaggeration: I'm talking about the fact that you're driving in terrain that requires "20-point turns", and then call me a pansy or something like that because I DON'T drive in terrain that requires "20-point turns". I drive on actual trails, not through the woods themselves.

#107, I didnt say anything about it not beeing able to do anything though.
I just stated that it isnt smart to do so and i was hoping that you would carry that logic up and beyond the level that i provided it to you at.

#111, All because mr_mcmunkee had to mention SUVs, and somebody had to take offense to it.

#112, You say that about Jeep, yet Land Rover and Hummer are the "only real off-roaders" built today? Damn, do I have to spell it out for you?

#110, I didnt call you a pansy, if you will recall i called the trails pansy for the fact that they are precleared for you and that you just kinda drive around in this cleared area, that you dont have to maneuver around anything, ive taken my truck out to Goose Island and they have trails like that there that are just kinda there and open.
I went through them without a single problem, infact thats were i took the pictures of my truck at if you wish to look, although i took them in the more cleared out spots...

#115, Really, I do too. I don't like SUVs, but I get tired of all the mindless SUV bashing, and I do try to point out that some people actually do need them.

#113, I didnt take offence to it, i just pointed out some of the stupidities of the Suv's of today and it progressed from there.

#112, You take a jeep grand Cherokee up against as Land rover or a hummer and youll see what i meant by that, but still anything over 5k for a full bodied offroader is to much.
