#139, One of them I know of is bad enough to stick a stock S10 4x4, so I dunno.
Really, some of these aren't even roads (they don't have numbers or names and aren't marked on map), but it still takes a good 4x4 to cover them. None of that Lexus or BMW shit. |

#140, Slide around in? No, to get to the pavement in. As I said, regular cars can't cross these paths that I'm talking about. |

So then why are you talking about the Suv's then?
Why go buy a 40k suv crap when you can get something that can do what it does but way better for around 5k?
Isnt that kinda the argument we have against ricers, why pay 20k to get a car into the 13's when you can pay 8k on a old v8 and get it into the 12... |

#143, Because some of the people who live on these roads have quite a bit of money and would like something a little more "loaded" than some old beater truck to drive back and forth to work in. |

#146, A new one?
Again, these people have money, and like to have a new vehicle for a daily driver. Since a car can't handle the roads they live on, they get a 4x4 vehicle. Why is this so hard to comprehend? |

#99, Dang, slap some bars on the front and drive THROUGH the trees. That's real off-roading. :-) |

#148, Sometimes it's nice to be able to haul around more than 3 people, and/or covered storage comes in handy. I suppose in cases like that, an SUV may be useful. |

#152, My family has a 93' Explorer, we've put it through the motions, towing trailers, hauling wood, shuttling gear around to various events we work, it gets it's usage, and actualy is taken off road |

#154, Case in point. The cargo room is quite useful; although there are many other types of vehicles (vans, station wagons, etc.) with similar inside space, sometimes you just need a truck-like vehicle. I wouldn't want one, and many of the people who buy them definitely don't have a use for them, that's not to say that some people don't. |
