These early 00 Civic coupes really don't age well, I've seen 95' Hatchback models in better shape than these, and I'm not talking about rice-victims, just regular ones that rusted to hell and back. |

#7, When this generation came out, everyone claimed that Honda had started cutting corners, and opined that the previous generation Civic was put together better. They must've been right. |

I don't see many of these around anymore. Hell, I don't see many '06-'10 cars either, surprisingly enough. |

#10, Yep. The few of those you still see around have faded paint, burst interior seams, and are for sale in classifieds as "needs mechanical work" for about $1,000. |

Hmmm... I wonder if we could zero-in on other cars, in terms of which were the turning points for various manufacturers, where it was the "last" of the good cars, before cost-cutting and committees/accountants fucked everything up. So far we have:
- Sixth Generation Civic (1996-2000)
- W124 E-Class (1986-1996)
I would nominate the BMW E60/E61 5-Series (2004-2010). Many were horrified by its looks at first, but it's become quite handsome in retrospect. I think it was the last "cohesive" design, aesthetically, with everything in good proportion. Also, it appears to have still been built/engineered quite well. Everything from BMW since then has been either boring, disproportionate, and/or just ghastly in appearance, with too much bloat and tech for their own good. I'll admit my 128i isn't the prettiest car around, but it was still engineered properly during BMW's better years. |
