That's a rather interesting replacement for what I'm assuming was one of GM's goofy factory airboxes.

looks like it would work.
it also seems thick enought to sheild itself from any engine heat.

it probably produces a mild ram-air effect through the grill as well

oh god! gm air boxes! on the cavalier it goes around the eninge, into the cabin, between my legs, on the roof, around my right side, under the car, desapears within the time space continuum to destinations unknown and quite possiblely comes back to the intake.
