All of these cars have sagging suspension. It seems like not only did their suspensions give out in 10 years, but nobody wants to bother replacing them, either.

#3, cause its a pain in the ass to do. more so if you decide to keep the air suspension

#3, isnt it just the air shocks? couldnt you just replace those? my el camino had air shocks in the back, you could fill them as u wanted to have it ride stiffer or softer

#6, can you replace them, yes. but the whole system sucks with age. plus to be safe you have to replace a few other parts with the springs. and as i said, its a total pain in the ass to do.

but thats the one nice thing about these. you can pick them up dirt cheap once the bags fail, replace them with springs for $400, and never have to worry about it again

#9, the bounce like crazy even going as slow as 10 mph. a sub mile trip left my back hurting for the rest of the day

#11, lets look a GM quality, shall we. my moms 95 Ultra has been sitting for over a month since it decided to take a big shit on itself. car won't hold a charge, the electrical system is all fucked up, half the stuff doesn't work and other things like hitting the horn or lights will kill the car. never have any ford my family has owned have done anything like that

plus it has thrown belts for no reason and the horn would go off out of the blue and stay on.

The problem is that the air-ride suspention in the Lincolns are one of those things that designers add to sell the car the come back to haunt the 3rd or 4th owner. I mean, how many extra customers did the attract because of it, a couple hundred maybe? Most Continental buyers I'm guessing didn't care if the car had it or not, and when those systems start going bad (10 years being about the designed-in shelf life of most automotive systems) they just become a major headaches

#16, Oh, don't forget the way 80's era GM power steering pumps would konk out in the rain, to wich GM responded, "Steering problem? What steering problem?"
Seriously, every, EVERY car manufacturer makes mistakes and builds cars they wish they hadn't, but over time, no one's record is really worse than anyone else's. Once a car is 5-6 years old, any problems it has are probably more attributable to how it's been cared for then to who built it.

#19, That was a BIG problem with 87' - 95' vehicles of all makes I've noticed, Dodges seem to suffer the worst of all, I've seen FWD cars from that era and a few trucks, that have just lost all of thier paint in similar fashion
