#17, Sorry but the GT2 is a scary, oversteering, sloppy handling pig of a Porsche, and I am a 911 fan. The NSX's suspension was tuned by Ayrton Senna, porbably the best modern F1 driver of all time. The NSX may be overpriced, but it is hardly overrated. I'm sorry ricers love Honda's, I truly am, because they tarnish this great car's image. |

#26, Okay. Thought about it. There is more to a car than HP. Its kind of like Lotus' philosophy, build a car light. It will stop better, handle better, and go faster with less HP. Thats why the NSX is aluminum, thats why it goes to 60 in 5 seconds with only 270 HP. |

#28, That its a good car. And so is the Z06. The NSX may be overpriced, but different cars exist to suit different tastes. I, personally would take the NSX. My point, I suppose, is just what I stated above. There is more to a car than raw HP. |

"build a car light" 3,000+lbs
as for the overratedness, some people treat it as some sort of super car, a jack of all trades so to speak. the inherent problem with that is that there is always something better |

#30, Its colser to 2800 pounds, actually. And, again, the ricers blab about stuff they dont comprehend and tarnish a great cars image. |

#31, just so you know - ricers (specifely honda ricers) par the NSX against 360's and Enzo's.
Sure the stats say otherwise - "but it's from honda! HONDA POWER BABY!!" |

#29, that's called a niche market. They are very hard to tap into - but once you market a car for it - you can make it as ugly and as underpowered as you like and still charge $90k+US for it - and people wil buy it because they think being different is cool (when it never was cool to be different to begin with).

#33, i'd say it would matter.
Nissan ricers par the Skyline against everthing else.
Toyota ricers par the Supra against everthing else.
Honda ricers par the S2000/NSX against everything else.
Mazda ricers par the RX7/RX8 against everything else.
It's excessive brand loyality. Although having brand loyality is nothing new and nothing wrong - beliving the best of your brand is the best of them all is something that needs to be delt with - either in massive drawn-out flamewars - or in the best defence of your brands title - ignore everything. |

I was always under the impression that this estimate of the NSX's weight was correct:
http://www.supercars.net/cars/2002@$Acura@$NSXg.html
A tad over 3000 lbs.
At any rate, I've always liked the NSX and felt that it was one of Honda's better accomplishments. However, I can't bring myself to classify it as a supercar. Sure, they're relatively rare, and the price a new NSX commands (especially in the US) is indeed very high. But to my mind, it's lacking some of that attributes that I consider to be defining characteristics in a supercar--mainly, being "extreme" in most aspects of performance. It's a 3000-lb car with 300hp. That's hardly earth-shattering; heck, by Ferrari standards, it's a low-revving engine, too. It has a well-sorted suspension, but it's supposedly pretty much daily driveable. And so on.
To my way of thinking, the NSX is a great car, but it is often misclassified as a sort of supercar when instead it should be considered a rather rare, well-balanced sports car. |

#27, still the fact another 2 seater is 1 sec faster in 0-60 handles almost if not as good or better for half the price kills it. i like the looks of the older NSXs but i would never buy one (even if i had money coming out my ass) |
