Well, they say "Problems per 100 Vehicles," and the lowest is 163, so they're saying that most vehicles out of 100 in the BEST make have 2 problems. I'm guessing they don't mean MAJOR mechanical failures, probably wussy little things like the radio knob coming off or getting a flat tire or who knows what.

and there lies the problem with this chart, I'd rather have to fix my radio or something a few times than the wheels fall off once

Just as someone said, "problems" can mean almost anything, I'd rather see it charted by serious mechanical problems, not things like faulty interior panels or malfunctioning motors in the windows, etc.

And just how bad is Kia when they lose to a company that's gone bankrupt? (Daewoo)

I don't go by this J.D. Power crap. For example, Volkswagen is very very low on the list, yet has anyone ever heard of Volkswagen having serious reliability problems? Porsche is high on the list, yet Porsches are known to be everything but reliable.

As for Kia, my mother put 50k on her Sephia with nary a problem. Not saying too much, but people have made Kias out to look like they fall to pieces with just a few miles on them.

I just figured out why Volvo is so low on this list. This is after Ford bought them out. So now Ford quality is infecting what used to be superior Volvo quality.

its appropriate that mercedes rated bad. you pay a lot of $$ for a status symbol. its not that great as a car.

#31, the eclipse/talon/laser are supposed to be pretty crappy reliability-wise... dunno, I've never owned one myself.

#29, Mercedes used to be at the top of the list in the 80s. see a lot of 80s models on the road
