yeah, but getting that much weight to move at all would take a hell of a lot of hp. I think they should simplify matters and just chain 2 or 3 top fuel diggers to it, they'd get it moving in no time.

I wanna know what that Shuttle's HP rating is..... "For Sale, 1982 Genral Dynamics Heavy Utility Vehicle, One owner, high miles, white/black exterior, interior seats seven, runs good, no rust, garage kept, slight shudder on startup, runs good at speed, buyer arranges delivery......."

A modern industrial deisel engine, like ones in freight locomotives and this thing, has about 12 cylinders, each one displacing a WHOLE HELL OF A LOT of area, like a couple civic engeins. they're usualy installed upside down, so you can change the rods and bearings easier.

Yep, it's the biggest tracked vehicle in human history. I was down in Cape Canaveral while they were hauling the shuttle to the launch pad. I was within 100 feet of this thing when it went by. Imagine seeing a skyscraper going down the road. That's what it looked like.

and just think, they've got a completely enclosed building where they can park this thing... and two shuttles... and all the machinery needed for working on both...
