#78, That really hits home. Especially the "camping" bit. There's a difference between "camping" and a thing called "strategy", but to some people if you don't go rushing into every room shooting at everything that moves, then you're a "camper".
Also the part about racial slurs. Following one session of Battlefield 1942, I spent about 2 days searching the internet trying to find out what the fuck a "jewbat" is. And I never found out, either.

#82, A lot of users dropped out, though, not only for the lack of support, but also because of that monthly fee. I've also heard a lot of stories about games getting returned to stores when people bought it and found out it was online only. Had it had an offline mode, it would have at least been somewhat successful....say, "Street Legal" level.

Camping, if done to achieve an objective , i.e. guard a choke point from enemy advance, guard objective, set up opposing fields of fire, then it's not camping. Camping is when the last guy left decides to sit in a hole and wait instead of getting up and trying to finish the objective

#89, I can't count the number of times I've been on a map where there's somebody in the next room coming towards me, and I wait by the door to ambush him, then when I kill him he calls me a camper. What's the alternative, just rush out and greet him head on and get shot?

#90, Some people think EVERY game is quake, you run around and shoot, shoot, shoot, the concept of team-based stategy is foreign to them

#92, Yes, but you're staying in one place to defend something, in this case a flag, which is required for any form of capture the flag game. You always have to have at least one guy to guard it. With any deathmatch-style maps, it's a bit different.

Camping is when you wait for the opposing team to Respawn from their desingnated spawn point, either by shooting a Panzer or rocket at the spawn point or planting mines right in front of the area were they spawn (big problem in RTCW)

I don't play the multi version of it anymore because the orginal class-based structure has been destroyed by quake-players who wanted it to be a shoot-em-up
For example, one of the character classes was the medic, he only started the game with a pistol and a submachine gun with one clip of ammo, it was obvious he was intended to act as the team medic, reviving fallen players and giving out health packs, but people have made mods that make him able to sneak up and give you a lethal injection, how dumb is that? THe game is supposed to be strategy, but it's turned into a doom-like rocket fest

#97, Same problem with Battlefield. Nobody wants to be a Medic (except me sometimes, and I usually kick ass with the Tommy gun), or an Engineer (except me sometimes, and I usually kick ass with the bolt rifle and land mines), but everyone wants to be Anti-tank because they have lots of explosives.
