I'm not a member of GMI, but I do browse it every now and again to get the scoop on future vehicles from GM. I sure wish car-truck.com (A similar site, but focusing on Mopar) still existed...I miss that site :(

#2, SUVs have the highest profit margin.

They get very little money from compats. That is why they are keeping quite and continuing to sell SUVs.

Prediction: As soon as the fad goes down and people start to complain on why automakers are making fuel guzzling boats, they will come out with a bunch of small cars saying "Its time to make a change." They will credit themselves for stopping the SUV trend and taking "responsibility."

#9, No they wont, thats what Toyota and Honda have been saying for a while now. I dont honestly believe that any domestic company will be as successful as those two in the compact/midsize market.

In all honesty...I think this looks like a Jeep Liberty filled with helium, with a shrunken-in-the-wash H2 front end slapped on it...

... in other words, this thing is U-G-L-Y, it ain't got an alibi.

#13, I would just like to say that there are entirely too many H2 models, RC cars, and diecasts in the world. Hell, a whole section of my Wal*Mart's toy section is crammed with them... How about having a few more racks of Johnny Lightning diecasts, huh? Would it hurt them that much?

#15, You mean the ones where ONE of them can block an entire aisle? Yes, I've seen those wretched things.

#17, Yeah... but in my area, it's one of only a few choices...all the KBs around here closed, and the Toys R Us near here seems intent on making their toy car section "Ricers R Us"... >_<

Thank God for the two diecast specialty shops around here, or I'd probably go bonkers. One of them is in a relatively small space, but it's packed wall to wall, floor to ceiling with hundreds upon hundreds of diecasts of all kinds and sizes... and the other one is a NASCAR diecast store *yay :) *

Now that I think about it... Target's toy department is actually not bad... a little better than Wal*Mart, but not by much. At least they don't have 50 gazillion H2 models and RC cars...

I don't get it... this image was on GMI way back in late August, and it took the rest of the automotive press till the end of October to post pictures of it... hell, even in early October, CarandDriver.com was still posting "spyshots" of this thing...
