#1, There's probably room for them in the front trunk, since, most likely, this is rear-engined like the normal smart fortwo.

#5, smarts are actually quite safe. They've done high-speed crashtests between smarts and MUCH larger vehicles (think Mercedes S-class), and the smart has come through with flying colors every time.
