#1, Estate since this is a 4 door. Shooting brakes are usually 2 door concepts. It could also be a break (Spain) or a Tourer (Germany/France/etc)

Also, that grille appears to be the same as the SVT grille, except without the turn signals.

Why does Europe get all the better versions of everything?

#5, Because, overall, Americans are used to really cheap, really crappy cars.

Overall, We Americans pay much less for cars than Europeans... they pay more, so they expect more, and that's what the car companies deliver...

Detroit was so used to shovelling cheap, crappy cars on us for so long, that now that we're slowly acquiring a taste for higher quality cars, they're having trouble... GM seems to be turning it around by trying to bring more and more European influence into their American lineup, especially through Saturn. Ford...well, Ford is still trying to do things like they've always done, and if they don't bring any real European-style, high quality cars into the Ford and Mercury lineups, they're pretty much fucked.

#7, Oh thank fucking christ... It's about bloody time... now let's see if they have the balls to make it more just talk and actually DO import those cars instead of "mulling it over"...

#7, I hope they do. Also, I saw a Galaxy not too long ago, so I wouldn't be suprized if some of their Euro models make it here.

#9, I really hope they do. I also want to see them bring diesel cars over here, as well as the Focus CC.

Ford is pulling out of the minivan market because their WindFreestar isn't selling... you mean, people would rather buy a Chrysler minivan than a more expensive ripoff of a Chrysler minivan? YOU DON'T SAY!

The Galaxy and the S-Max are fantastic looking minivans that look like nothing else on America's roads today... I'm sure they stand a better chance of success than the outgoing Ford minivans.

European Fords make American Fords look like shit. Not to mention the new guy isn't a gearheard, supposedly wants to have a feature to limit speeding, and not allow fast takeoffs in cars such as the Mustang. :(

That's all well and good, but will Ford America actually shove it's ego, however damaged, aside and actually begin importing euro designs? I don't know, they've had the option for years and decided to instead keep pushing out the same old underpowered, uninspired cars on the domestic auto buyer. I think Ford's too goddamn stubborn to admit they need help and that's why I'll be extremely suprised if I see any Galaxy's or S-Max's on the road anytime soon.

...and also, I'm sure Ford is gunshy about importing Euro models since they shot themselves in the foot on the whole Merkur deal... they screwed that over so badly... ...and then they screwed themselves over on the whole Contour/Mystique deal too...

They try dicking around too much when they import European models... they try to Americanize them, and since the Europeans DO pay more for cars, the imported cars Ford has brought in are intentionally built-down to a price, base equipment, shitty engines, just to match the prices of crappier American cars.
