It's mostly the head/cam setup, I think. Wastes a lot of fuel idling and at low RPMs, and it's necessary to run the thing with terrifying amounts of spark advance just to prevent low-load misfires. It'd probably be fine on the highway if I backed off on the gearing a little bit, but I don't really do much highway driving.

If I floor it everywhere..which I have a tendency to do.. I get around 24mpg city/29-33hwy.

#30, Hehehe... I'm a BAD man...
Don't worry though. With proper tactics I can pass 90% of the traffic even with my 45hp Renault. As long as I stay out of the highway that is.

#32, Nah, not racing. Passing in traffic. The secret is using your momentum. You keep a distance from the guy in front of you. You get a peek on the opposing lane. The trick is to judge the distance and speed of the oncoming vehicle if there are any. You floor it, picking up speed using the room behind the guy you want to pass. When the guy coming from opposite direction zooms past you, you just jump the sucka in front.
Works everytime. I passed a new E-class Benz this way once, with 5 people in the Renault! I didn't see the face of the Benz driver but my buddies did: they laughed their asses off for the next hour.

#33, but remember. It doesnt handle like a "performance car". It rides, and drives like a big ass FWD car. It is not fast, and it takes awhile to slow down, speed up etc.

#34, Yes, this is why you need room. In an STi of a Mustang GT you wouldn't need this room. You'd just drop a gear and floor it. In a weak and/or heavy car you have to work your speed up.
And trust me, every car can be fun. You just need to get to know it, what it likes or dislikes and use it to bring a grin to your face.

#38, it's a 2.2L base model. Oh and last weekend I ran into him a couple times, and he did indeed floor it from a stop light and dared pass a couple people in the turn lane. I said "fuck him" and let him be a retard.
