I heard these were seriously unreliable, even compared to Ford's other small car lineups

#2, I'm just stating what I heard, a year on the market's more than enough enough time for a few bugs to appear.

#3, wow!

I've had one recall "Catylitic converter information sticker may be burn or bubbling"

and the HVAC fan was annoying me so I replaced it 100 buck with tax

I still think the best recall I ever heard was for Crown Vics/Grand Marqs/Town Cars back in the '90s... the safety switch could accidentally be activated by the starter motor... meaning, you hop in your luxobarge one day, put the key in, start it up, and next thing you know you've got a face full of airbag whilst the seatbelt pretentioner yanks your body into the seat.

#5, whoa. That's bad. I know my mom's older Explorers had a problem with randomly rolling backward because the parking brake wouldn't always stick. I know that was a common problem with Taurus/Sables and Mustangs, too.

#8, That's why I always leave cars in gear (1st or reverse), only when there's a grade I also pull the e-brake, when there's a steep grade I do both and additionally turn the front wheels in the direction of the curb.
My sister is the 'e-brake parking' part of the population and she already met the wonderous phenomenon of rear brakes freezing to the drums in winter :P

Been seeing more of these MKZ's, I have.

#8, I have a friend who got in an accident once because his Explorer wouldn't shift into reverse when he was pulling out of his driveway, so he gave it more throttle. It popped into gear and zoomed backward into a parked car across the street.
