#38, The rally club was disbanded and we woted all belongings and cash left to be divided among other local auto clubs. Now I'm a member of one of the biggest and most influential auto clubs in Poland, Automobilklub Wielkopolski. AW is the owner of 1 of 2 race tracks in Poland and is over 80 years old. Feels kinda nice ;) and it's a great opportunity to develop my race/rally official/marshal career and stay in touch with motorsports. Hell, I don't mind working so that others can race you know. Plus, AW is a national auto club so they pay for the work >:) |

#49, Holy shit I got the '86 Camry WAAAAAY sideways on the way into work this morning. I take her once in a while to keep her joints from arthritisisisisizing. I came around the corner to the parking lot, lifted, aynked the wheel and pulled the e-brake and then stomped back on the gas... an old creaky Camry holding a 45 degree slide must be quite a site. I was cheered by the smoking warehouse staff. |

#51, Katrinka is the most loyal car on the planet. We have so many memories in that car I can't bring myself to get rid of it. We have way too many cars, but I just can't do it. |

#48, Well, in the beginning I just wanted to race. I had no car and no cash so I quickly got involved in the official side of things. Now if I can't afford to run I just work at the event. I feel good knowing that I'm a small cog in the machine, someone that helps to keep the things running. I don't know why. It just feels good to have that responsibility, no matter if it's a track day or amateur rally (where you can lie back from time to time and generally the tension isn't as high) or a championship race (where you have to stay focussed 100% of the time and always be ready to do some gymnastics... 3 hour races can get pretty tiring even to the guy behind the armco!). |

#53, I understand that feeling, totally. It's good to be involved with things you care about, even if it's in a small role you are still contributing. |

#54, I felt the same when I was a mamber of a reenactment (sp?) group (we recreated the 'druzhina' of the first Polish king, basically 9th/10th century a.d.; a pretty cool mixture of nordic and slav culture, dress and armament). Even though I was the poorest guy (I had to borrow weapons and armor from the common pool, stuff that was usually in the worst condition) and the least experienced (yes, we fought for real, we just didn't hit as hard) and all I did was act as stage dressing, I always died first in battles and just acted as a corpse till the end... it still felt good. |
