#20, :( no. I found a 5 spd Jetta in shambles. :( I am currently working on stickshift, and I am not perfect at it. If transmission wasnt an issue, I woulda tried to get an SHO. There's tons of '90s and '91s for about $800 to $900.

#26, My friend that spends his hollidays in USA last year bought some Mazda Minivan with a V6 (I think) for 300 bucks at an auction. He said it was an auction of abandoned cars found on the highway... do such things exist?

#27, yes they do. Typically, if cars arent claimed for 30 days after impounded, they're auction fodder.

#28, He said those were exclusively/mostly cars that broke down and were abandoned. His Mazda had a broken alternator belt I think. His buddy was not so lucky: he bought a Civic with a hole in the oil pan and seized engine. |

Another friend of mine says he bought a LX Mustang with a leaky gearbox. Around 300USD. He sold it for 1000.
And it wasn't fixed. |

#29, They are mostly impounded cars. It is buyer beware but you can atleast look at the cars a day before the auction. I wouldn't recommend them unless you have extra $$$ ready for repairs. Also change the locks as the original owner may see your new auction car and may want to reclaim it.
Each county usually has one. I went to mine and those things were either funny or frightening. I went to open the door on a Blazer and, yes, the handle did come off. There are some potentials, though. |

old toyota. find a 3rd gen celica (22r, one of the most reliable motors ever imo) + its RWD. i got my supra for 1250 and she runs like a champ even with the abuse i give it. you wont win any street races, but youll get ~30 mpg and reliablity like no other. |

#18, That's if you're REALLY good in electrical maintenance. VW has and will always have electrical problems. |

Oddly enough, I'm pretty sure this very car lives near me, or one similar to it. |
