Well... this is the new one that will be in the RX-8. Suppose to be much better on mileage, dunno yet fot reliability. |

Yeah well the old ones are as bad as a worked V8. So some guy over here put a worked V8 in his car instead. But the newer ones arent that bad on fuel. |

Got me the latest issue of Sports Car International and I must say, the Renesis engine is pretty sweet. It's the same size of the 6 speed manual in the RX8 (!) |

#12, Some would argue that the 13B-REW wasn't so hot at it, either.
Nonetheless, a rotary seems to offer pretty good output for its displacement, even naturally aspirated. It is, however, sort of disappointing that they aren't turbocharging the new RX. |

#14, Of course, and this is practically the only time I'll ever say something like this, when you've got an engine that will wind up past 8000 RPM, you don't really need that much torque anyway. It is good, though, if the curve is pretty flat, because if you've got an 8000 RPM motor with a 500 RPM powerband, you aren't getting anywhere fast unless your transmission has more gear ratios than most mountain bikes. |
