#4, They've got a redesign... that rounds it off in all the wrong ways, so a quirky, fugly little van-like thing becomes an ackward, even fuglier, scary-looking hunk of crap.

Crap, ran out of room... but anyway, with Toyota dealerships... it seems like they have the attitude of, "Well, if you don't buy our car, don't worry, in an hour another person will come in and buy it, so we really don't give a shit."
In addition to my oldest sister having an Accord rather than a Camry, it's the same reason my father has a Volkswagen Cabrio rather than a Solara convertible. ...and why my mom has a Tracker rather than a RAV4.
My sister with the xB was the only one frankly stubborn enough to get THE car that she absolutely wanted, no matter how crappy the dealership treated her, and no matter how much she overpaid.

#11, That isn't unreasonable, if that is the car she wanted (god knows why) then that is the car she needed to buy.
I was ignored at a couple crappy used car lots, but I was only there to look at something anyway. Both the ford lots I looked at (one has a ford lot about 30 miles south and a used car lot here that is almost exclusively ford so they count) had salesmen on me almost immediately, like halfway to the car I want to look at immediately. Negotiation wasn't too bad, there were a couple times that I just told them I didn't believe a word they were saying about their cost invested and I threatened to walk a couple times and then it's sign here and enjoy your car.

The independent used ford place fucking threw car keys at me even though I expressly told the guy I wasn't buying a mustang unless it said gt on the side(he never did find me one either). It's amazing I bought one at all after an afternoon with a v6 automatic convertible. :v

#15, My father wouldn't either, but he really had no choice... he needed a cheap, roomy convertible.
The Solara looked the best, but after months and months of trying to get a test-drive in one or even to try to have a salesman talk with him to no avail, he gave up on Toyota.
The Cadavalier and Sunfire convertibles were out of production.
He hated the styling of the Camaro.
He also hate the styling of the V6 Firebird, but liked the front bumper on the Trans Am... but a big V8 RWD car wouldn't be good for winter driving... (and I don't want to hear anything from any "Oh driving a RWD on icy snow is easy" people, ok? No, it is NOT easy to drive on icy snow with a powerful RWD car, some people just refuse to admit that in an elitist way.)
...and the Mustang convertible was too tight a fit (my father is a big BIG guy.)
The Cabrio was the only choice left at the time in terms of a cheap, roomy convertible. I actually drove it from Lansdale, PA to Lancaster, PA on the Turnpike, and found it to be a pretty fun car to drive, other than the monsterous blindspots, which is unavoidable in a convertible, I guess.

lol I agree x2. I drove the Torino (351 cid V8) on fresh early snow, on medium worn out all-season tires, and it was fucking scary.
But the Cabrio... ? Ok I drove a New Beetle (driving must be similar to a Beetle conv./Cabrio) and it was OK, not more. I just didn't like the feeling of driving a mostly girl's/gay's car, even if my ex gf and ex mother-in-law were with me. Why did your dad NEEDED a convertible ?
