Don't know what it's aiming it's sights so low. Surely a Bugatti might have been more aspirational

I do the love the fact that Mercedes-Benz is *so* concerned by their image as a luxury marque in America that they badged both the Unimog and Sprinter as "Freightliners" when they brought them to America...

My mom always found the "luxury" association with the Mercedes brand amusing, since in France, she had been taken to school on a Mercedes bus...

I see a lot of Mercedes Sprinters around here now. Almost as many as the Dodge variant. Rarely do I see a Freightliner Sprinter.

#9, Really? I wasn't aware Merc-badged Sprinters were sold in America... I know a LOT of people are doing the front-end conversions to return their Sprinters to Mercedes-badging...

#11, Are you sure? Seems odd that plumbing companies and things would spend the money on a front-end conversion.
Or that, say, a Mercedes dealer would.

The only Mercedes trucks I recall being sold here are those ones with the round hoods from the 70s.

Haven't seen one of those in awhile

BTW-have any of our members in the US even seen a Unimog?

Apparently, they sold only 184 from 2002 to 2006

'Twas posted here but the thread prematurely expired and I'm too lazy to go dig it up.
