Any they say Americans can't build cars. Christ, he had to replace the flywheel? TWICE?

Uh, the common thread in all of those parts has me wondering, is it something about the way this guy's been DRIVING it?

#3, "I can't believe it, I crashed my car and had to replace the front bumper, fenders, hood, and radiator!... those parts shouldn't fail when a car is less than a year old!"

#4, Reminds me of this guy I was talking to

"Yeah, had a Chevy Beretta, it was low on coolant, but I kept driving it, then one day, the tempreature guage went off, lousy piece of shit, so I kept driving figuring I'd be able to make it home, and then the head gasket blew, so I put some more water in the POS and kept driving, when I finaly got home, it spun a bearing, that piece of junk, that's the last GM car I'll ever buy, I'm a Ford guy from here on out."

Wait a sec, you just admitted you MURDERED your own car, and it's GM's fault?

You know what's sad is, this is a 2007 model.
If he hates it so much, why doesn't he just sell it? DVLA says it's regged until next year.

#3, Most likely. A lot of idiots do and then bitch about 'unreliable pos' cars.
Also, you need to be careful while consulting reliability statistics, for example ADAC noted that a lot of Porsches have brake and tire problems. Well, no shit?

If it's driver abuse that's caused his problems, then it sounds like he needs to learn the 2-second following rule and/or buy an automatic.

#8, I thought that was the 3-second following rule, double in heavy rain. I know that's what I go by, anyway.

#9, Californians are lucky to get 2 seconds. I hate our drivers.

Speaking of following distances... I saw a Pontiac Grand Prix in traffic that was tailgating everyone, and was applying their brakes every 3 seconds... maybe they misinterpreted the "3-second following rule" :P

#11, I fucking hate people tailgating. I already miss the 850's rear fog light. :p

I only tailgate some asshole when:

-They are in the fast lane.
-They are going the speed limit or slower.
-They are not actually passing anyone.
-There is no one in front of them.
-There is no room for me to pass them in the slow lane.

I like to play games with tailgaters, I'll let them go past me then speed up so they can't pass. But I never do it if they aren't already going above the speed limit. I'm an asshole ;)

#15, Enjoy your tailgating tickets. Tailgating doesn't suddenly become legal just because the vehicle is going slowly in the left lane.

My definition of tailgating isn't riding the bumper, it's moving slightly within the 2-second zone and flashing my high-beams.

It annoys me that the biggest thing drilled into our heads in American Drivers Ed is that if someone is tailgating you to slow down... all that does is make traffic worse, and possibly enrage the people behind you for no other reason than to feel smug about being in people's ways.
Why isn't lane discipline taught in American Drivers Ed? It's a part of driver training in other countries in the world.

I should note... everything in #13 has to be met for me to tailgate.. it's not "Oh they're doing that one thing, I'll tailgate them"... and it's only on a multi-lane road... single-lane roads, no point in tailgating someone at all.

If someone is on a multi-lane road, and is doing doing all five things that I listed, they should not have their license becuase they obviously don't know what the passing lane / fast lane is for... and if they don't know that, I don't know what else they never learned about driving. Either that, or they're a callous jackass that is so self-indulgent they feel they're entitled to hold-back everyone else.

#17, Well, the point of slowing down is not to piss the tailgater off, but to reduce speed so that his following distance is more accurate, therefore possibly preventing an accident should be have to make an emergency stop. Of course, the tailgater will generally just get closer when you slow down, but you'll finally slow to a point where they don't....and that's where you stay until they back off or pass you.
