it would be nice to see a US manufacturer get something out there in the exotic market. Hope this gets past the concept stages.

Pretty much...cadillac has said this car is done deal. They will be making it for sure. it is pretty bad ass. It doesn't quite have the subtle beautiful styling of a McLaren F1, but it should be every bit the performer. But, more then likely it will be much heavier then the F1.

It's actually pretty decent compared to the Imaj and Vizon concepts. Good styling Cadillac.

Concepts like this one make me wonder if GM is wondering what it's like to be the #3 car company in America. Mopar consistently puts out killer concept cars and, what's more, actually puts them into production. Ford at least has the cool concepts (49, Lincoln Mark 9, GT40) even if they're not so good at actually building them. But every concept I've seen from the General in the last five years, other than the SSR, looks like an angry kitchen appliance. Sure, a 700 HP supercar from a major US manufacturer would be great, but please at least give it some decent styling. Want an example? Look at the Saleen S7 or the Mosler MT9000.

I hate Cadillac's new styling. Every one of their cars is starting to look exactly the same. Ludicrous sharp edges, boxyness, stacked headlights, UGLY. Cadillac needs to drop this whole damn supercar thing and go back to what their actually good at....LUXURY CARS. Big, swoopy, V8 RD. And put some goddamn chrome on them! Not as much as a '59 ElDorado or anything, just SOME chrome. Nobody who wants a high-end sports car is going to buy a Cadillac, and GM needs to learn that.

The saleen is a over priced car, $375,000??!!! I rather get a 360 and buy a sweet house. The only thing their good at it the LeMans and even then they get their asses kick by the corvette, a car that cost way less (street or race version) and is way more reliable.
The Molester MT9000.. I mean mosler MT9000 is nothing more than a corvette with a huge engine and a bodykit for $250,000. The cadillac car is $200,000 and has the performance to beat them both with enought to buy a corvette as a daily driver..

elanderholm-they ARE NOT making it. The engine is getting placed in another car. GM just wants to show us good stuff to "show they're serious", then build shit. pssst....I got a secret-It's body is all carbon fiber..it wouldn't be a very heavy car.

Click and Clack on Car Talk said it best, whey they were handing out the "Worst Cars Ever" awards a couple years ago, they gave a special lifetime achievement award for Increased Manageablility to GM for reducing its market share from an unwieldy 50% to a much more managable 20%. Pssssst, hey GM, want to get people to buy your cars? Don't discontinue things like the Camaro and replace them with what appear to be bricks with headlights!

I don't get it, in the 60's people were on drugs, but designed some of the most beautiful cars ever made. Now people are using computers and technology to effectively design cars as if they WERE on drugs. I don't get it

Granted these cars may be uglier than the south side of Opra Whinfrey going north but the performance of the computer designed cars vs. the cars of yesteryear isn't even comparable.

(on comment number 3). i so wish that was true. but i would think that GM could heighten the Cien hype by producing only 100 cars (Cien=100). surely that would bolster Cadillac's image and made this car a ultimate rareity and instant collectors item!. but GM had to stick their head up their ass in fuck it over.

. you read the stats on the engine though?. it has the power of a V12. but at the flick of a switch. you can drop 6 pistons and use the other 6 for better fuel economy!. now thats something!.

It is meant to be built. But not as it is in the concept form. Apparently Cadillac need a supercar to sell over seas. This is meant to be it. The power is ment to be dropped and a few of the other bells and whistes. But by doing that the price is also ment to drop.
