For those who thought the factory stock muscle cars weren't powerful enough, there was always willing dealers and aftermarket specialists who would make up for it. Folks who bought a Corvette in 1969 from the Baldwin Auto Company on Long Island could arrange for it to be sent, literaly, down the street to the Motion Performance shop run by a guy named Joel Rosen, if you could afford to put down a hefty $7,000 in 1969 dollars, you got this, the Phase III 'Vette, 0-60 in 4.8, 11.4 in the quarter

#5 - my wife's family is from there, and I said "Long Gyland" and they said "WHY DOES EVERYONE THINK WE SAY IT LIKE THAT? THAT'S A BOSTON ACCENT!!!"

So I stopped saying that.

Other than the hood, the body is a stock 69. What did they do under the hood? I assume they started with the 427?

Yep, they started w/ a cast iron L-27 and then exchanged the cast iron heads for aluminum ones, upgraded 3 BB carbs to 950 cfm 4 BB's, did some suspnsion and body mods (look closely, the front squats a bit more than stock) , redid the exhaust (it's now on the side, not out the back) , integrated a fuel line cooler so the gasoline going to the carb was thick and dense, and replaced the stock ignition w/ a more powerfull one

the amplifier in the ignition was always a pos. First thing I'd do away with if i was going away from stock with one.

#12, Would I hit it on a boat? Would I hit it on a float? Would I hit it in a can? Would I hit it with a ham?
Yes I would, I would indeed! Yes, I'd hit it, Sam-I-Am!
