both the OS can crash. Windows may do it more frequently but at least it will try to fix itself before it compleatly dies.
macs can crash - but when it happens - the computer just lets it slide - almost like it doesn't even care. as long as its ON - that's all that matters.

#20, I've used both a lot, and trust me, Windows 2000 Pro is the best mainstream OS I have ever used.
If you're out of mainstream, then BeOS is the best OS ever, but that's currently unsupported..

#21, I have practically 100% uptime. If my computer's on, chances are it's running with good stability.

#25, Just create another user with vastly reduced priviliges. Even better, use NTFS and only allow the Administrator user to access certain folders at all.

#20, Despite what Apple wants you to believe, Macs are no more stable or secure than PCs. People don't write viruses for them because the userbase is too small to bother.
In fact, they're rather less stable than PCs. Windows NT and Windows 2000 machines will stay up for months at a time, while I'm told G4s crash several times a week -- though, luckily, I've never had to work with the things myself.
